Ordanist Pilgrimage
In the Ordanist religion, a pilgrimage is a spiritual journey into the wilderness to reflect upon Natural Order. Pilgrimages can take place anywhere, although a pilgrimage through Olderand is the most auspicious.
During a pilgrimage, an Ordan will walk through a natural area as part of a group. Sometimes they will walk in complete silence, other times the group will perform chants and prayers. Groups of pilgrims will always be lead by an official member of the church, usually called a Walker. Pilgrimages vary in length, some can stretch into multiple days, whereas others will take only an evening or morning. Regular religious practice in Anderand often involves simple pilgrimages as there is also no effect of Natural Order. In contrast, a pilgrimage in Olderand is a multi-day expedition and will also involve the complicated effects of Sleep Sickness. For this reason, expeditions in Anderand generally act to prepare people for an eventual trip to Olderand.
