Clay Men

Clay Men are creatures which are found only in Olderand. They have simplistic, humanoid features, with flat loamy skin and a gentle complexion. Clay Men exist in clusters around Olderand, but mostly they are found in the northern regions. They are creatures of Natural Order, and are unable to survive outside of Olderand.

It is widely believed, although never proven, that Humans originated from Clay Men. As a result Clay Men are greatly reveared in Ordanism and are under special legal protection from the various kingdoms of Anderand. Often they will be guarded by Rangers from natural aggressors, with the rangers acting as shepherds. Clay Men rarely come under threat from Humans, with most seeing the harming or attacking of a Clay Man as a fundamental sin.

Visiting groups of Clay Men is a regular action undertaken by Pilgrims in Olderand.
