Ranger

Rangers are Humans who work in Olderand. Either deployed as part of a government initiative or by a religious insitution, Rangers work to keep Olderand safe from trespassers and criminals, alongside maintaining the landscape. Like most humans who live in Olderand, they are almost entirely cycled in from Anderand, and work in batches until the Sleep Sickness becomes too much of an issue. Rangers differ from Pilgrims in the fact that they cannot allow themselves to be lost to the sickness. Instead, they will have trained to focus their minds far more than the average person to prevent the risk of cognative loss.

The job of a Ranger is often dangerous, however it is widely seen as a duty and responsibility towards the maintenance of Olderand. Many Rangers would have first visited Olderand as a Pilgrim, and often originate from religious organisations or have a religious motive.
