OlderQuest IndieDB First Post

Note: This was originally posted on IndieDB, I’m putting it here to document things.

A game I’ve been working on for three years

With OlderQuest slowly taking shape, I want to start talking about it on a few more platforms.

This is a game which tries to distill the feeling of exploring a large fantasy open world into something that fits well onto a mobile device.

The controls have been designed with mobile in mind, with one of the central ideas being that the game can be played with just one finger.

Giant Sand Worms: First OlderQuest Boss Fight

The First Boss Battle

Recently I’ve been working on the first boss fight for OlderQuest: the giant sand worms! They’re inspired by the creatures in Dune — massive, otherworldly predators that feel genuinely threatening.

Launching the OtherMythos Patreon!

Supporting the Project

After three years of work on OlderQuest, I’m excited to announce the official launch of the OtherMythos Patreon page! The project has grown significantly, and it’s reached a stage where it’s time to start asking for community support.

You can find the Patreon page here: Patreon.com/OtherMythos

Thank You

I want to also give a massive thank you to everyone who has supported this project over the past few years. Your support has helped turn OlderQuest into what it is today :)

OlderQuest DevBlogs

Welcome to the OtherMythos OlderQuest development blog! This is where I’ll be sharing updates about the progress of OlderQuest outside of my usual YouTube format.

What to Expect

If you already watch the YouTube content, this won’t necessarily talk about anything new, but it will be a place for me to write out my thoughts in text form.

Why a Blog?

I’m trying to get as many different platforms covered as possible. I was planning to start posting to indieDB at some point anyway, so it also made sense to mirror these blog posts here as well, as I actually own this platform 😂
